Established in 2015, the Department of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) at Malout
Institute of Management and Information Technology (MIMIT), Malout, is dedicated to
providing excellence in computer education through academic innovation, technological
advancement, and industry-focused learning. As a constituent department of a premier
Government of Punjab institution, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE), New Delhi, and affiliated with I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU),
Jalandhar, the department offers a dynamic and future-ready learning environment that
integrates strong theoretical foundations with extensive practical exposure. The BCA
programme is designed to meet evolving industry requirements through modern computing
laboratories, industrial training, internships, workshops, seminars, research initiatives, and
experiential learning opportunities. From the third semester onwards, students can specialize
in emerging technology domains such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine
Learning (AI & ML), and Full Stack Development, enabling them to develop focused
expertise and industry-relevant skills. Supported by experienced faculty, advanced
infrastructure, and a learner-centric academic ecosystem, the department strives to nurture
competent, ethical, and globally competitive IT professionals prepared for successful careers
